The first round of the Mixed Pairs as been completed. As always the level of skill displayed during McKenzie Park Highlander events was everything we expect.
Some players came out of their break to try get revenge from last year. Rhonda Martin & Ray Clark looked like they were definitely hungry, but Kannika Suwannasri & Dean Hall were hard nosed, giving them a feed. Rhonda and Ray made an amazing comeback to take the game 23-16.
The Taylor duo of Sandra & Russel proved too strong for the Bowdler couple of Marg & Larry. This game could have gone either way at any time, but the Taylors proved to be too strong, taking the win 22-12.
In a match with some absolutely fantastic bowls, Maria Brown & John Catlow managed to withstand a barrage of great bowls from Karen Neill & Bob Chessor to take the game home 29-19.
Quarter finals commence next weekend on the 21st of August with the option for players to play a different day due to other club commitments.
