Currently sitting in 2nd place, Section A have a must win game and will rely heavily on Benowa to beat Musgrave Hill to secure them a certain place in the Finals. Winning 3 out of their 5 matches the season has been kind to the team and it would be terrific to see them make their way to the Finals stage to take on teams from other sections in their division.

It’s been a hard fought competition for our Section D. Yet to secure a win, they face the top seeded Helensvale at Helensvale. They have turned up every week and given it their all, but the competition is stiff and they have unfortunately just missed out on getting a win. It would be great for them to finish off the season with a win over Helensvale and maybe even knock them off the top spot if the other game in their section goes to plan. A valiant effort by all!

Last years Q Sevens winners in Division 6 stepped up to Divison 5 due to their win. Although the division is only one level up, the skill level increases quite a lot. In a fierce competition, the Section 4 team has really given it a red hot crack. Narrowly missing out on a few extra wins during the reason, they still sit a modest 4th on the ladder with two games to go. They will be looking to go out in style over the next couple of weeks. After succumbing to a pumped up Beenleigh last week, who sit second on the ladder, they managed to only go down by 11 shots over all with two of their rinks only losing by one shot and their thirs rink only losing by 9.

Although it has been tough journey, you can guarantee they will be full of confidence this week as they challenge Lowood and try to scrape up some extra points.

Wow wow wow! That’s about all that needs to be said for Division 6 – Section 3. McKenzie Park BLACK remain undefeated. With a team made of both veteran and new members, they have come together perfectly to run through the season in spectacular fashion. Really laying down in the law in almost all of their games, it would be almost certain the rank 1 team will go into the Finals with something to prove.

Only South Toowoomba and Salisbury left on their hit list, they will be striving to make sure their record doesn’t contain a single loss for the season. Their sights are set red hot on a Finals match with the Division 6 – Section 4 team from McKenzie Park.

Division 6 – Section 4, Q Sevens runners up in Div 6 from 2023, have recuperated and readjusted to come back in 2024 with a vengeance. McKenzie Park RED also remaining undefeated and coming first in their section, they will want to retain the clean slate and power forward through the finals.

They too are hungry for a battle with the Division 6 – Section 3 team. If all goes to plan, it will be another McKenzie face off with McKenzie Park RED showing each week why they are a power house and favourite for the Finals.

The Division 7 – Section 1 team, better known as McKenzie Park LADIES got off to rough start. They have clearly found their footing now and turned it all around. Heading into Round 9 sitting second on the ladder, they trail Pine Rivers by a measly 6 points.

Playing Dayboro this coming weekend, the Ladies team will be starving for that win to secure their place in the Finals. Go get em Ladies! No matter what happens with their campaign, it’s their first time together in Q Sevens and they have definitely made our club proud with their freakish dash home!

McKenzie Park GREEN sit second on the ladder with two games left, trailing Maclear Island by 7 points. The selectors definitely got it right when they put this lot together. With a healthy mix of experience and knowledge throughout the team they have shown their strength as a team with a record of 6 wins out of 8 games.

Green could make a fourth team for Q Sevens in the Finals if all goes to plan. The team has to be proud of themselves with their effort, because the rest of the club is. They will be full of beans and ready to let it rip this weekend against Mcleay Island trying to knock them off the top spot and come home with a strong finish to the season.

At the end of the QTR Finals there was some big names that went down. Moving ever so closer to the Final, there is some top teams still in the mix and all contenders having a tough draw to get to where they are at.

It will be well worth going to the club this Sunday to watch the Semi Finals play out. Two great games to be played with defending champions Ray Collins & Clint Sheldon VS Steve Pollock and Greg Lucas. On the next rink, John McMahon & Brian Weidlich VS the “Roughians” – Shane Ward & Scott Warby.

Going to be a cracker weekend overall, but definitely don’t miss these Pairs matchups! They will definitely have a bit of everything including some funny moments without a doubt!

We continue to work in the background tweaking things to give you the best results possible. Things may change slightly, so keep checking back to see the progress!

Each month we will be doing different competitions and raffles. So if you haven’t signed up already, get on board. All competitions and raffles will be free! They are easy to enter and in some cases, you can get more than one entry.
