It has been extremely hard to keep up with the quality surrounding McKenzie Park, with so much going on, it has been an arduous task to try and produce the character set forth by our Board.

Some things a long the way have been left behind as we steeple chase the bar set that is set so high. We once had a newsletter that was used to inform our players, and part of that was the Member of the Month – giving credit to our most valuable member.

After some long conversations, we are trying to bring it back. And what better time then now? With the greens just about to come into full flight there is going to be so much happening towards Christmas!

So this month, we congratulate Luchica Muggeridge!

Secretary, Umpire, Coach, Women’s President,  District President, District Juniors President, Club Juniors Coach and probably a whole heap more titles to add to it!

She was once an underdog, but the District knew they needed her and she took the reins of President. Our Ladies Club was looking daft, she took the President seat in a unanimous vote and turned it around – now focusing on quality not quantity.

Luchica has been pivotal in marketing our Club to the Nerang schools and businesses, running the all successful Juniors and barefoot bowls functions you see weekly.

She runs the highly successful Friday night Twilight Bowls – introducing new players to our Club which has seen numerous enthusiasts sign up and become team members for both the Ladies & Men’s Clubs.

She took over Bowlslink responsibilities when there was no one else with the knowledge on how to do it.

Most importantly, she has come up with brand new ideas on how to convert patrons to players – the one of a kind “Club Select Triples”, and she pioneered the best Pipers Day the Club has ever seen with photos, live scoring and a beautiful write up thanking Toyota for their Sponsorship.

There is literally nothing this lady can’t do! Australia Day, Pipers Day, Oktoberfest and soon we will see the biggest event yet for the Club, the grand opening of the brand new carpet!

Our Club could not achieve the heights it has without the continuing commitment from Luchica! Well done!
