After two days of solid rain, it looked certain the Ladies “B Grade” Final was going to be postponed.
The clouds quickly disappeared and Sandra Taylor played Lorraine Frankland it was tipped to be a monstrous game between two veterans of McKenzie Park.
Sandra quickly got out to a quick lead, but Lorraine managed to close the gap after winning 5 ends in a row.
The catch up game wasn’t quite enough for Lorraine, as Sandra held on for grim life and took home the win 25-15.
With the rain being so heavy the past couple of days, it was truly remarkable that both players adjusted to the slower than normal conditions. Both bowlers putting down some shots that were merely a few millimeters from the jack. The marker – Von Melville was forever getting her measuring tap out to see who was closest.
Well done ladies. It was a terrific game to watch and congratulations Sandra!
